Sometimes, based on your answers to our health questions, the clinician may decide it is better for you to be seen in person at your local health center. If this happens, you won't be charged for your online visit.
There is no charge for a Birth Control visit, and shipping is free. You pay per pack for the birth control pill, price varies by state.
The UTI visit costs $15‐$25, price varies by state. If the clinician decides you need to be seen in person, you will not be charged. If any medication is prescribed, you pay for those at the pharmacy.
Your clinician will send your treatment plan within 1 business day through the app. They also send your UTI prescription (if any) to your pharmacy at this time OR initiate the mail order process for birth control. If you message your clinician on the app, theyâll get back to you as soon as they can, usually within a day.
Itâs free! We do not charge you for shipping.
Your shipment will arrive in a discreet, soft white envelope. No one will know who itâs from.
To access messages in the app, log in with your Planned Parenthood Direct credentials. Go to Order History > Tap on Clinician Inbox or Support Inbox to connect with your clinician or the support team.
In some states, we are required to see who we are treating. Your clinician will evaluate the information you provide on the app and be in touch if they need to confirm additional details via a quick video chat. The clinician will send you a message on the app, you can access that through Order History.

Currently on the app we offer birth control pills. You can order a 3, 6, or 12 month supply or you can opt in for 3- or 6-month refills for up to a year. Youâll also find information on the app about other birth control methods available at your local health center, including the ring, the patch, the IUD, the shot, and the implant.
On the Planned Parenthood Direct app, birth control costs vary by state, starting at $20/pack. Download the app and select your state to see your options.
You don't need a pelvic exam, breast exam, or Pap test to get birth control. However, it is important to know your blood pressure when we prescribe birth control, as this may affect which options are right for you. We will ask you if you have had your blood pressure taken in the past three months, and whether it was normal or high. If you haven't had your blood pressure taken in the last three months or you're not sure of your blood pressure reading, we can still prescribe birth control, but it may affect the type of birth control we are able to prescribe and for how many months.
If your birth control shipment is a 3 or 6 month supply, you can get auto-refills on your prescription for up to a year.
The Planned Parent Direct app makes it very convenient to get birth control pills prescribed and delivered. Other birth control methods, including the ring, the patch, the IUD, the shot, and the implant may be available at your local health center. Learn more at the 917-594-7490.
To discuss other options, please (319) 935-7146 and make an appointment to discuss in person. Note that many women get pregnant when switching between birth control methods or brands of pills, so be sure to use a backup method when you are switching methods.
Most users may get annual birth control prescriptions on the app. A one-year prescription for birth control pills equals 13 packs of pills (not 12). So, youâll receive 1 extra pack in your last refill.
Currently, we offer 7 different birth control products on our app, 6 combination pills (estrogen and progestin) and 1 progestin-only pill. Pills offered may vary by state.
Note: We do not offer emergency contraception through the app yet.

The UTI service is currently available in Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Washington, D.C. and Washington.
If you don't see your state listed above, we apologize for the inconvenience. We are working hard to offer the UTI service more states as soon as we can.
Usually, no urine test is required to make a UTI diagnosis. We rely on strict, evidence-based guidelines to evaluate your answers to our health questions.
That's why it's important that you answer them honestly. If we think something other than a simple UTI is the cause of your symptoms, weâre not able to prescribe treatment on the app. In this case, weâll recommend you speak with a clinician at a health center and weâll refund your app visit fee.
What youâll pay at the pharmacy depends on whether you have insurance and your specific health plan. Your prescription cost will depend on what medicine is prescribed and the pharmacy you choose, it could range from as little as $4 to as much as $60.
In most cases, we can correctly diagnose a UTI based on your answers to our health questions. If we feel more testing is needed, we'll recommend you be seen at a health center.
If we diagnose you with a UTI and you don't actually have one, we'll be giving you an antibiotic you don't need. This may cause possible side effects. However, in most cases, they're only temporary. Taking antibiotics that are not needed can also increase the chance of making bacteria resistant to that antibiotic. If something other than a UTI is the cause of your symptoms, treating you for a UTI will not treat that problem. If your symptoms persist, it is important to get medical attention.
We treat UTIs with antibiotic pills. Youâll need to take the pills from 1â7 days, depending on which medicine we give you. Itâs important that you take all of the antibiotic pills we prescribe. If you donât take them all, your UTI might not be fully cured and it may make that antibiotic less effective for you in the future.
If you miss a dose, you should take the medicine you missed as soon as possible. However, if itâs almost time to take your next dose, donât double up. In this case, just take one to get back on schedule.

If you have a question about a recent visit, go to that visit in Order History (access from the main menu icon at top right) and use the Message Clinician or Message Support options.
For all non-medical questions about how to use the app or the services we offer, please click here and send us a message at any time. We cannot help with medical issues through this channel, but we can answer many of your questions. Itâs also a great place to give us feedback. Someone will get back to you within one business day.
Planned Parenthood health centers carry many different birth control options. It's best to call ahead and check with your local health center what they have available.
You can book an appointment at your local health center online, usually available within 1-2 days. Walk-in appointments may also be available at some locations.
If you visited us online (through the Get Care or Direct-CA mobile apps between June 2014 to December 2017) and at a local health center in the same city and state, the clinician and support team members have access to both your records.
If yes, thank you! We've been testing the service to learn how to make it better. To continue to get care from us, please create a new account on our new Planned Parenthood Direct app. If you have questions about your refills for birth control pills, please click here and send us a message.
